    Knock sensor

After visiting this site and getting good leads on fixing a 332 trouble code.....I offer this......I had washed the engine in my 99 Silverado and drove about 2 miles to drop it off at the local dealership to do 2 minor recalls. I picked the truck up4 days later and the next day I have a check engine light. I read info on this site and bought intake gaskets to replace the rear knock sensor....but I wondered...if moisture caused the problem, what if I continue to drive and hope the engine heat will dry it out. After 2 weeks it must have fixed itself. I kept cancelling the light with a scanner and I think it's; OK Thanks to whoever.......

undeneath the manifold two knocksensors sit in a well. these wells are
"quasi-sealed" along with a debris seal under the manifold. if the wells do
collect water, the knock sensors will ohm to ground without applied
resistance. they may after time "dry up" but there is a possibilty or corrosion
thus, weakening the resistance signal. itd be best to ohm the KS harness
to the KS from the top of the intake to ground. verify! its cheap enough.
