the race i've been wanting Silvy ss vs my 4.8L

well i finally got my first race with a SS with my new stall and locker on the way home yesterday from work. It was like a 06-07 model ext. cab tan color Silverado SS against my extended cab 4.8L.

I saw him fly by me through a light on a S type turned corner and i saw him flash his caution lights at me.... So i flagged him down finally he slowed down and jumped on Colleyville blvd 26... So i was slowly getting beside him and i noticed he was wanting to race me at a 30 punch i got him to roll down his window and told him lets run them at a light. (wasnt about to race from a roll i knew i would get stomped).... So both of us are holding traffic up and we finally hit a red light. I only stalled my truck right around 2000rpms and when the light turned green both of us squeeled off our tires through the light. (i really wish i could have experienced that view from another car on the other side of the road watching our two silvys race!!) anyways i launched past him by 2 truck lengths then it turned to about 1 truck length bout midway through 2nd gear after i hit third gear i started to ease off and noticed his fenders were right by my bed and cab area when i looked out my driver side mirror.. I was super excited that i forgot to flash my caution lights!! lol

So i finally come to a agreement that my truck is intended for the 1/8th mile instead of the 1/4

Saweeeet dude! I would have figured that an SS would take you from a dig vs. a roll... Imagine how much you would have pulled on him if your didn't have those big, heavy-ass 20's...

Off the line its a night and day dif just simply because of no traction issues. From a roll the 2wd might be a little faster. I think stock 1/4s motortrend had the 2wd 1 tenth faster than the awd. but the 60 ft times were like .3 dif with the awd having the upper hand.

Hmmmm...I may be selling my 17 Denali's soon. You interested?
I forgot about it being an '06--they are RWD. My bad.
    A 2003 does ~6.62 0-60; 14.99 @89.06 1/4 mile.
    A 2006 does ~6.73 0-60; 15.03 @ 91.16 1/4 mile.
They are both about the same, with the AWD being quicker, but the RWD catching up at the end of the 1/4 mile...

Don't take this the wrong way. But your truck almost looks cleaner with the stock rims on it.
