Hey everyone, I have been reading for awhile on here in preparation for my build. Thanks in advance for all of your help, this is an amazing site. Anyway, I have $2,000 to spend on my truck and I have most of the info figured out except for the trans. I have a 1994 silverado with a 5.7/4L60E. The 4L60E is a 1st gen version so I know I will need the adapter flex plate to mount my trans to the LM7.

Here is my problem: I am going with a carb setup. I have the performer RPM intake and 750 CFM carb. I will be getting the MSD 6LS box to finish it. I am planning on putting in the LM7 and attaching the existing TPS sensor to the Carb. I am planning on leaving my existing wiring harness in and using it to run my trans. I don't see how the trans will even know there is a different engine if I adapt the TPS to the carb, Right? Also, the LM7 will have a higher shift point per gear, so how can I tune my trans without spending $500 to $800 on a controller?

So will my existing ecu still control the trans or am I an idiot for thinking so?
