1985 C/10 5.3 with manual trans.....Options?

IMG_3024.jpgFirst time poster here. I'm an old drag racer and longtime hotrodder and I'm looking toward my first time LS swap. I would LOVE some opinions on my new project. It’s a very clean 1985 SWB TWD C/10 original paint. It’s a V6 manual trans,3 speed on the column. It has NO AC,ps,pb, or even radio. I'll lower the truck a little and put some street tread on it.
Here or my goals.
1. SAPS (simple as possible swap) 5.3 2006 up ? I have one located for 600 with computer. I’m not stuck on this engine if something is easier I’m all for it!
2. Would like to keep some kind of manual trans since the truck has a hydraulic clutch now. Would like to have Hurst shifter lever stuck through the floor mated to whatever tranny works out best. (Best could be read as easy and cheap)
3. Fairly inexpensive. (Maybe 2000 for all parts?)
4. High performance not really an issue may bump cam up a little for sound.
