So this truck started out as a 4x4 K1500 with a 5.7tbi and a 700r4 trans. It is now in the process of being converted to a 2x4 1500 with a mildly built 5.3 and mildly built 4l60e. These were both pullouts at a junkyard out of an 04 Avalanche. The reason for the 2x4 conversion is the cost of an adapter to use my 241c tcase with a newer model 60e. And the pullout of the Avalanche was a 2x4 so I would have had to also convert the trans to 4x4. It just started adding up quick and I'm on a budget...sort of.
So the mods to this 5.3/60e are this:
2004 5.3 lm7 with 80,000 miles
TR220/220 112 lsa
Comp 918's/hardened pusrods
Vette Filter/EP381 pump
Schoenfeld lt's
ls6 intake
Custom HPtuners tune by a friend of mine
Custom cold air intake
Ls1 electric fans
Transgo HD2
Circle-D 3000 stall
B&M cooler and deep pan
Autometer Gauges
Well I started taking pics kind of late so I apologize to you guys for that. Started out by tearing the engine down to a short block to check it out and install the cam and springs. It looked great still showing the hash marks in all 8 cylinders.
Next we installed it in the truck as a long block so that I had room to mount radiator/fans
