Maybe the snap rings came unseated???

Make sure to get your grease gun out, find the grease zerk, and fill it back up. Make sure to clean where the grease has thrown itself on the undercarriage so that in a few days you can crawl under there to see if the problem still exists.

i thought of that already, but i looked and felt for the zerk, and couldnt find it. maybe i dont have a greaseable u joint??

or you can just jack the rear of the truck up so that the fluid runs to the front of the tranny.

im glad you said that cause i wouldve never thought of that, lol.
