So i'm putting an LQ9 in a '65 pickup and figured out a different pulley route for those of you who might be interested. You can take the alternator and relocate it to the top side of the water pump where the tensioner pulley goes. It requires a 5/8" spacer between the mounting surface of the alternator and water pump. Also a custom made bracket like for the old v-belt style alternators for the upper alternator bolt to the other bolt hole on the pump, allowing for adjustability. This setup can also allow for the use of any intake using a factory cable throttle body without changing all the accessories.
