I want to say thanks for this web site. Now I can relate to others who are doing the LS1 swap. We are in process of installing a 2K WS6 LS1/4L60E into a RC 90 Chevy truck. We have been working on this install for a few months, no hurry. I used the truck's wiring harness and the T/A's LS1 harness (with the VATS key). I merged them together for a clean and functional working harness. Everything that was orignal on truck still works great. We put a high pressure fuel pump in tank and had the fuel rail modified by 'Street & Performance' so to have a return line. We also purchased all of our pullyes and (AC, Alt. PS) brackets from S&P because they are chromed not just polished alum. We also got our headers from S&P, coated and looks good.
The VATS key is tucked away in secert place so no one can start the truck and just drive off. As for the truck, my man is installing an Escalade front cap and Caddie tail lights, painted the truck a Viper red. Mags on order along with nice tires. It should be on the road in a few months, like I said no hurry, part time project. The fans are from a T/A and when the temp reaches 187, they both run slow, then as temp rises, they both go to high speed, same as T/A orignal. The swap went better than we thought, motor mounts were tough, location and angle. We'll try and get some pic's together for show, it's a beauty.
