well...its gettin time for a cam swap in my truck...my truck dosent feel fast anymore!!

i want to run a came that i dont have to run a converter with but still makes good power.

this is the one ive been looking at

Comp Cams XTREME RPM XR259HR - 206/212 - .515/.522 w 1.7 rocker - 112 LSA: Lingenfelter Performance Engineering

206/212 - .515/.522 w 1.7 rocker - 112 LSA

RPM range 800 - 5800

which would be almost right off idle.

i dont want to shift at much more than 6000 rpm, since i have a completely stock motor otherwise and i have no idea how many miles it has on it cuz it came from a junkyard.

since it is such a small cam would i need new valve springs such as these?

GM Performance Parts LS6 Valve Springs - set of 16: Lingenfelter Performance Engineering

if so can i order just springs or do i need locks and retainers, etc or can the stock ones be used?
