Are the front and rear gears the same? Meaning if I got the front 3.73 gears off a 4x4 99-03 truck, I could use em on my rear differential?
Some guy has his gears off his 4x4 for sale (3.73) and I was thinkin of gettin em...I just want to know this so I can be sure to tell him.

Also waiting for a reply in my other thread about 2-3 shifting in the 1/4 to also help me decide between 373 or 342s...

I would say no for sure, cause when you order gears for a 4x4 you tell them front or back.

They're the same ratio, but i'm pretty sure the front ones are scaled down in size.

If it were a straight axel front end, yes, but a newer front end no... They are not the same as they used to be. Hope this helps... P.s. expect your fans soon!

Yeah new front gears are 8.2" in the IFS so those won't work in the back. The rear gears will fit.
