i am in the process of looking for some headers for a 99 chevy silverado, this had the 4.3 before i did a 5.3 swap. i hear for the money the LTs would be the way to go if one could afford it... if this is true then what would be the reccomended brand.... ??? links to web sites would be preferred or just name the site i will search it out ...

there are plenty of places to find some LT's for your truck....

most people, like myself, run the Pacesetter Long Tubes with the Off Road Y..... numerous places to get these, i think they are close to $440 + shipping.... ask Sprayd99, thats danny we get a deal on them...

or some people have other preferences, Moze, DAMNyankee, got a set of LT's but im not sure what brand, i know he was happy with his choice...

as for websites to buy them...

www.texas-speed.com
www.speed-eng.com
would be the website...

also Billy at TRT Performance can get them was one thing i heard... check those places, but i would ask around first, before i go out and get some.... word of mouth can be the best deal, and help you find teh cheapest place...

good luck on your venture

pacesetters are the most recommended and are about half the price of any other longtube headers available. the quality is great and performance is just as good as the $1200 headers. and be sure to get them ceramic coated.

+1 ceramic coated is always a must for longevity of the headers

anothter question.

you mention Y pipe i know what this is but is it feasible to go true duals or would it affect the out come of the computer of the truck its self, i assume i would need to retune or have allen retune it?

whats better true duals or standard single...

My Tri-Y's are Doug Thorley's and I like 'em just fine. But everyone loves their Pacesetters. I just gotta be different.

When you ask which is better between true duals or single, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything proving one is "better" than the other. Their job is to expel the exhaust. If they do that, they've done their job, simple enough. I ran a single 3" pipe from my Y to a 3" in/3" out muffler and dumped it before the axle and it seems to be fine. Not sure if it would improve anything running true duals or not. I am pretty sure my setup moves the volume of air my engine is expelling though. You'll probably get a different sound running duals vs. a single pipe though too, so that's something to consider.

thanks for the reply DY . much appreciated my concerns were answered just trying to figure out which way i wanna go, i think if not mistaken my pipes are 2 3/4 in diameter i guess it would be feasible to upgrade them to 3 in.?

at the Y part im pretty sure its 3inch..... as ofr going wit duals it would be easy dues to the Y pipe itself comes in 3 pieces... the last piece is th eactual Y part... so leave it off and youll be able to run duals .....
