Hey guys, where can i find some longer plug wires for an ls1?
the coils are mounted slightly higher on the custom valve covers and they stock ones don't reach.
or some wires and parts to make my own.
the have to be ls1 style.
thanks,
allen

mitch cobb racing: ya, allen played with it for a while, HUGE difference
Are the truck wires longer or shorter? How about the LS2 GTO? I know you have some around there you could check and see if ones are longer than others. Document it after you're done, Please.![]()

If I use a stock ls1 wire, it's about 3 inches too short because the coils are up by the intake.
I think the trucks are longer.
I remember making some custom wires but can't remember where I bought them.
I'll keep you updated Red,
allen

I think I saw some at O'Reilly's one time but could be wrong.
The coil relocation kits usually come with build them yourself coil wires. I wonder who's those were.

Not to be brand specific ....
You might try Taylor Wires (www.taylorvertex.com) either 8MM or the 10.4MM Thundervolt Custom Set. They should have a package available for the "coil relocation kit" - don't know the part number off the top of my head. Either way you could make up a set to your length.
Some of the LS1 wire sets (stock) are offered in different "series" such as FF, GG, or HH and their lengths vary by an inch or two. It would require some time at your favorite parts house pulling sets and comparing unless someone knows a "reference chart" with lengths.
MSD is another option - although they are a bit more expensive depending on your requirements.
Hope that helps point you in the right direction - please update with your solution for the rest of the members.
I use http://magnecor.com, best damn wire out there. They will make them any length you want
