Hit, how's the performance with the Magnaflow you have now? I bought a 5x8x18 but decided that it would probably be a little to loud for me so I ordered a 5x11x22. I like it quite for the most part but with a good tone.
Better than the 50 Series Flowmaster that I had on there. The big Magnaflow sound deep and throaty but rather not loud enough for me under WOT acceleration. It's hard to explain, it sounds good still just I want more!

Allen the magnaflow is a straight through design with no baffels or chambers to interupt exhaust flow. if i kept my other truck i woulda swapped to magnaflow from flowmaster 40's true duals. that is why i went with 2 maganflow mufflers for when my truck is done. plus i heard it on my friends 2000 Camaro and its quieter under part throttle but screams so nicely at WOT...exactly what i want. although mine will exit in front of the passenger tire( a bit louder due to length) i am also considering an x-pipe.

I almost bought my flows today, but everytime i think about hitting the buy button, the more i think about the magnaflows, hmmmm

i'll decide tomorrow, thanks for the tip sleeper, i'll take that in consideration, if you had 40's and duals, that's like me, and if the magna's sounded better, then i may go that route,

one more thing, what size did you get , on the magna's. I don't want something loud for normal driving, but i don't mind it loud at wot.

also, do you recommend the round or oval? and i guess we're talking about the univeral aluminized mufflers, right?

i wonder how two fart rice cans would sound on an ls1 lol, i bet pretty cool, but look freaking ghetto.hahahahha

    thanks,

    allen

the ones im talkin about look exactly like the one in the link you sent me, but with offset inlet/outlets. i do believe that the 2 i have are gonna sound exactly like my buddies f-body setup, and just like what you want, cuase thats obviously what im goin for(hence the name...Sleeper).

and yeah the aluminized (chrome) mufflers. i got mine off ebay form a guy here in town that didnt put em on his 99+ stang if you remember.

im tellin ya......dont do the flows...if you want loud rumble and driving drone...then yeah...otherwise i have learned sound doesnt = performance, and ill stick with the free flowing magnaflow. i think of Dynomax as a good mix between Flows(loud) and magnaflow(with a little less perf gain)

    just my 2 cents.

even on reviews it makes the most power and is a couple decibles quiter than the magnaflow. but with LTs, no cats, and true duals.. it will sound mean.

Hey, twobit, Do you still have the 5x8x18? If so, do you wanna sell it?Lemme know, you can PM me, I'll take it off your hands. It seems the magnaflows are better than my 50 series flowmaster.

i like my exhaust to. 2.5 inch all the way. dynomax cats, replaced the kinked pipe with 2 3/4 inch piece. go to a walker x-pipe. then goes into two dynomax superturbos and then out the back and tucked. very quiet idle. throaty midrange and quiet top end for on the freeway and trips.
