GM is going to start the power on demad stuff with most or all of it's v8's.
I think that's a nice idea, more gas mileage is a plus in my book,

i hope no overhead cams make it in the v8 line up , save that shit for ford, lol, jk

uh oh, dispacement on demand again, didn't gm try that and fail once? I don't think it's going to save any power, I mean, we already can get 20 or so out of the trucks on the highway, and around town Dis. on demand, will not be very useful around town.

I've been trying to keep up on this, and from what i've been reading, gm's got it down, the switch between the two is almost undectable.

so if it's that good, then i don't mind, if not, there better be a switch to turn it off.

Gm tried this in the 80s. Computers are so much better now that they can make it work. GM claims this is the most fuel saving method available outdoing even hybrid technology. Drivers of the new engines say the transition is seamless and saves 30% in fuel.

Vortec 350s can be made to give LS6 engines a run for their money and cheap, however not in stock truck form. Be prepared to change intakes, cam, mod the heads for higher lift, and alot of prom tuning. The ZZ430 (430hp, 430LBs)is just a Vortec engine with a LT4 hot cam, Aluminum Vortec fastburn heads(which flow worse than iron heads), and 1.6 Roller rockers.

What you need to do to get you truck up over 400hp is get a high flowing aftermarket Vortec carb intake, a 4 barrel TBI unit if you want to keep TBI, have your heads modified for high lift cams, get either a Comp Cams XE 274 or a LT4 Hot Cam, and 1.6 Roller Rockers. This will make your truck a monster.
