On factory bumpers the end caps are riveted on. Working in a body shop i riveted them back in but u can use bolts n nuts to hold the endcaps to the bumper "frame". Hope this helps.

Is there a certain way to remove the rivets other than drilling them out?

Last question I promise. What size rivets do I need if I decide not to use bolts? 1/4 inch?

I use a air hammer with a chisel tip or a hammer with a chisel right underneath the head of the rivet. Rivet size i dont remember.

I think I will probably go with SS nuts, bolts, and washers. Rivets sound like a PITA.
