^ Get a good free flowing exhaust with some headers and a good cat back, then a nice CAI followed by a tune. If you need a weeee bit more umph to help get you going, swap in some deeper gears

He seems like every other new guy on the forum. Ask a question, what should I do blah what's best blah. Then when the most experienced people give the best advice, they wanna argue and say that's not what they want. Let him swap a stock 5.3 in place with no other mods, and then tell us later he's not happy and wants more advice on how to make it tow better.

For the money you spend on a 5.3 and doing the swap you can make more power than you will need with the 4.8

Biggest question is. How much are you budgeting that it'll take you swap in a 5.3, and have it running down the highway reliably?

I tow a car hauler with a tune only 5.3 ex cab. My buddy has a bone stock 4.8 ex cab too. Can we drag em 90mph no. But they do fine as long as your realistic about expectations....
