Ive been reading some threads about 4.3 to 5.3 conversions and i have questions. I have an 03 silverado that was a 4.3 and i bought a 5.3 out of a 01, i had two people try to do the swap and they did nothing but mess it up and back trac me even more. The 5.3 is dbc and ive been reading that its best to change it to dbw. Also do yall think its a better idea to look for a 03 5.3 instead. And try to get everything that i need at once or keep this 01the since its already in and bolted on? Its been sitting for almost 3 years and im tired of it sitting so somebody help with advice.
People keep telling me it has to be a v8 harness off a 03 5.3l, and its kinda tuff finding them around these parts that are dbc. So should i get an 01 harness ?
Get an 03 V8 harness, DBW throttle body, TAC module and gas pedal. Sorry you're not keeping your DBC. Anyone who tells you that a 99-02 DBC harness will work has no idea what they're talking about.
