    88 Chevy 5.3 swap

I'm almost done with the 5.3 swap in my dad's truck. We used an 05 model 5.3 and 4L60e. Still need to get the AC hooked up and work out a few bugs, but its fun to drive.

Very well done. Torque curve is something else, eh? Way better than any sbc ever hoped to be.

The old tbi motors have a lot more throttle responce and torque below 2000 rpm, but the 5.3 really shines above that. I was very pleased that I got 20mpg with a mix of city and highway driving.

Its a mixture of stuff. I bought a $60 ebay intake for an 05, but it didnt fit this truck as well as the 86 I swapped a few months ago. I got a 45 degree coupler to come off the throttle body and made different brackets to mount the air tube to the ac compressor bracket. When it was in the stock location, it looked to high. I think this is a cleaner look.
