    Hi there LS1.

I'm 08chevyjm from houstonperformancetrucks.com. I heard from a good friend that used to be on this site but now sold his truck that this is a good site to used. With that being said, I hope that this site can help me with my brand new 2011 Silverado I have now. well, I guess I will meet some new friends from the Houston/Baytown area here and hope we can get together and talk.

Most sports require one ball, motocross requires two.

Racing isn't a matter of life and death, it's much more important than that.

My goals I plan to do is chage out my 342 to 373 gears. I also want to get a good clean lowering kit for my truck where it will where my fenders are a couple inches from my tires. I want a whipple supercharger, a single turbo kit, a good converter, possibly a cam, I want 160 temp,a slp pulley, longtube headers, also want msd ignition 10mm wires and coils. I know its going to costs roughly around 8k, that's not including billet intro wheels I plan on buying too. I want to have all this done by the end of the year though. The truck has 10k miles on it, so its Been broken in on the engine so its ready to be upgraded. haha thanks for reading.

A whipple supercharger and a single turbo kit, which one? Unless you are palnning on a compound system of some sort.

A whipple will be struggling to make 800 rwhp. Least on a 5.3 for sure. A single 80+ mm turbo could do it though. I'd advise search button for trick or kb racing turbo kits. Also turbos like lower numerical gears. So may want to keep the 3.42s for awhile. There are a ton of things you will need. Search some builds in the my garage section.

There is a rule in modification... Take your timeline and cost and multiply by 3. It applys well here. If you tried to compound a system your looking at over 12000 right there. Cam swaps cost around 800 in parts slot. Udp is around 250. Headers can be got for around 350 but you won't need em of you go turbo. You also skipping injectors, upgrading the fuel system ( I got over 1k on mine and I'm not done and I didn't use top of the line stuff) . And I'm sure I'm missing more bud. Your looking at destroying your bank acct... On the bright side... When you turn on your truck. It will return the favor

Welcome on over. Forget about the wires and coils! Your stock units are more than capable to support over 500hp. Don't just flip through a catalog and pick everything that fits your vehicle.

Start with typical bolt ons. Headers, CAI, Tune, Efans(yours should have them already) gears/Locker.
If your not familiar with performance parts, just READ. There is alot of good info to learn on these forums! But when someone tells you something don't take their word, do some research and make sure the info your absorbing is correct. Start slow! Be reasonable too! No way you can get all that done in a few months unless you have a Black AMEX.
Also Intro's are for show cars and trucks. Sure you can ride on them everyday, however they require constant polishing and they are high dollar just asking to be stolen!

Im local and can help, do you have any mods yet? Do you have any money saved for purchasing anything?

If you plan on going boosted stepping up to a lower gear isn't recommended since boosted vehicles like to have more gear. Also Headers are useless if you want a turbo since they require custom pieces.

Figure out a realistic plan for your vehicle as i assume its a DD and we can help you mod accordingly.
