What you think? It's a game, I play for blood. LMAO. It's all good though it's not that serious of a build, got the motor out of a junk yard for 200 bones. But it should be a good lil truck once it goes in. A friend said he had around 450 to 500 hp but a different cam. But I cant wait to see how its going to perform.

    243 heads P&P
    GMPP ASA cam
    Pacesetter LT's w/ ory
    K&N cai
    Custom tune
Rebuilt tranny to a 4l65e w/ tb stall
The intake and tb I am undecided on, I want to use my FAST 102mm LSXRT and tb, but a friend said I should use my intake off the 5.3. Let me know what yall think.

    Later I want to get a tru-trac with 3.73's.

Well let me know what yall think.

good luck with your build, i take it this is a 370 ? stock crank? stock rods? id look into bigger headers, if on a budget id go with a nnbs truck intake, 4:56 gearing

you plan on running nitrous or any forced induction?, whats your expectations out of the truck? dailydriver with some horsepower? do you care about gas mileage? i was always told if ya wanna make a difference then jump a gear or 2 sizes a ls motor loves air, they like rpms, doesnt have to be spun to the moon but 7k is perfect, you mention you have the FAST, if so i never or yet to see anything worth my wild about that intake that a nnbs truck intake cant do specially a ported one, but since you have it build around it, it will want air, lots of it, the more air you draw the more air you have to exit, you have the heads get them ported, it has to be moved out fast, as for headers id look into some 1 7/8ths with a free flowing 3" exhaust. choose your stall last, dyno the truck then pick stall accordingly. a good build will net you 500 wheel horsepower as for a cold air intake get a 4" tube you'll need it

you got a good build going on, just need to match all the parts up!!

@ skeet-Im going with the 373 becuase they are coming with the tru trac for a steal. I currently have the stockers 342's in now. I would like to go FI but I want to put my saving to a 66-67 Chevy II. I might have a deal on a true 66 SS Chevy II, the guy doesnt want to sell it but I think he will. It needs work but what doesn from that year? Its going to be a daily driver with extra hp, gas milage is not that important as I live in Baytown and work off of Fairmont. The heads are getting ported, thats the last thing he has to do before install. Where can I get a 4" tube from? Should the exhuast be duals with an x or will the ory be fine? The reason for the FAST intake is the article that GM high tech put out with a 5.3 and made some good numbers.
Appreciate all the help and input.

    Nbs= 78mm
nnbs= 80mm Is that the only difference skeet?

FYI local guy about 7 yrs ago had a ASA cam in his LS1 fbody, 4000 stall, 410s and was 11.5s all day long. That cam can be made to work and work well. If you have it use it then later decide if a larger one is what you want.

if you want a good cam for a 370 then something in the high 230s low 240s will do wonders otherwise leave the asa in place. Youll need a good size stall for a cam like mentioned. Even the ASA will require a 3800+ to properly run
410s will work if using a 26" tire otherwise at track its going to lack

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

also most custom cams arent nothing more then a tweaked OTS cam. Pat G is known for this. when having your typical cookie cutter build 6.0 with 243s any big company's OTS cam will perform very well. everyone and their brother thinks they need a custom cam when they arent doing something different then what was done over and over again. Now a Gen IV setup will be more taliored to custom since its still fairly new. a buddy won Fastest truck this yr at LSx shoot out with a OTS cam. It was a 6.0 with 243 heads, GMT900 intake Tick performance Polutter cam, 3400 stall, 513 gears 30" drag radial on 100 shot it runs 10.4@127-128 on motor its 11.5s@119
