Question 4L60E Not Shifting To 2nd Gear Under Full Throttle???

...or anything approaching full throttle. What are the possibilities? Low fluid? Too much fluid? Bad shift solenoid? Any ideas? Anyone else ever have this experience? Thanks

whats your shift points set at....? bad solenoids will usually just skip the gear and go from 1st to 3rd or 2nd to OD, check the fluid see if its low, also is it a stock trans, if it is you may need to change the accumulator pistons or servo, might not be holding up the pressure, idk, its a few things to check out, and almost full throttle and WOT isnt much difference when it comes to the tuning cus 70% open and WOT isnt much difference, thats probably why its doing it at both points.

Yes, It is a stock 4L60E that has, ready for this...about 4,000 original(2001 F-Body) miles on it. BUT, very hard, drag raced miles. It shifts perfect all the time under normal cruising around town. That is, except while cruising around 45 mph(converter lock-up speed?), it will constantly slip in & out of overdrive. I know nothing about tuning, unfortuneately. I'm an older guy, lol, but would love to learn how, by someone that could teach me. Thanks for any info that can help.

May be the converter locking and unlocking, not actual shifting.

if it was shifting fine before and nothing has changed, ut oh, might be a slipping trans.

check fluid, that's all you can do.

if youre slowly rolling into throttle and it wont go into 2nd gear try manually shifting the trans, if you can manually shift the trans then your 1/2 shift selnoid has gone out.. you should beable to shift through all gears by manually shifting yourself. unlocking and locking converter could be a tune issue
