    Question 5.3L LM7 and T-5? Parts questions!

Hey ive got a 2002 5.3 LM7 in my 1992 chevy c1500, i exploded my th350 that i had in it now that its put away for the winter id like to put a t-5 in it (dont ask why im not doing a t56 cause my answer is simple im broke.) what mix of parts will i need to make this work? ive heard that i need to use an LS style flywheel then i can use a clutch from something that had a t-5 stock like a late 80s camaro. is there any more info you guys can give me on anything? any details i have to know? any info is GREATLY appreciated!!

is this just to get you rolling so you can rebuild your th350? if you planing on using the t5 as a "upgrade" i would vote against it. the first gen t5 was made to take a MAX of 280ft tq. the second gen t5 could take a MAX of 300 ft tq. there is a reason that they were only put behind v6's and 305's

Ok to me this is how it would work, the T-5 is meant for the older SBC, just like the NV3500 in the 99-06 trucks. So, you would need a flywheel meant for the NV3500 and the LS engine, this would come from a 4.8 5speed truck, 2001-2005. Then use whatever clutch is suitable. THIS IS JUST MY THEORY, it makes sense but don't take it as gospel.

imma go with the majority and go against the t5. If you do get one thou, get a WC one. I mean there are some behind some serious foxbodys, running low numbers... just dont be hard on it until you got money to fix it.
