Rollpan, 3inch body lift, and receiver hitch???

So my truck is all torn appart, had the box repainted and a roll pan welded on as well, going to be putting a 3inch body lift in it for now. I want to put a receiver hitch on too so i can pull small trailers and a boat. I know they have the "hidden hitches" for trucks with roll pans, my problem is that the hole in my roll pan is gunna be 3inches higher now for a hitch now. Any input what to do or has anyone done this before can give me some input with pics too. I don't want my receiver sticking out below my roll pan but it looks like it might have too...thoughts?? Thanks in advance!!

Think you may be on your own for this one. Usually guys with body lifts run a roll pan hitch. That way even with the body lift the hitch remains just under the bumper versus being 3 inches lower.

If it's only going to be a small trailer, just hit up the local metal yard for some 2'' ID square tubing and start cutting and welding.

You can get a 'universal' one that bolts to the frame (instead of the crappy oem ones that bolt to the bumper). It'll sit a little lower, and kind of be an eye sore, but it'll tow normal. I bought one, and was just going to put it on the couple times a year I actually tow. But the decided a bumper was nice to have, just to get in/out of the truck. With my lift/body lift, i'd be screwed with a rollpan, unless I got an ugly step for the hitch.

The OEM hitch bolts to the frame. It has 2 bolts that do go through the bumper for added strength. You could buy a universal one and mount it upside down inside the frame rails. I'd get some measurements before just to verify that it will match to the cutout in the roll pan.

you DO NOT want to use the oem one without the bumper.... lets just say i've seen one come off, wasn't pretty.

I've seen one come off WITH the bumper too, but took a lot more effort lol

And if you try to use it without being bolted to the bumper it will bend and rip the frame. Seen it happen on a lot of trucks with roll pans, or somebody doesn't put the bumper bolts in.
The OEM hitch is not meant to be used without a bumper.
