And I have a friend that put an 8.1 in his 90 k3500 and he swapped out the cluster with one from a 92-94.

ok, no sweat on the headers.
Yah, I've been thinking about the cluster problem, and since you said that about your friend's truck I feel better.
So, it seems that the 0411's vehicle speed sensor feed from the PCM (pin C250) is 4000 ppm and is fed directly to the cluster pin B13(VSS high) [http://www.lt1swap.com/99-02_vortec_pcm.htm]. Then, the cluster sends Cruise data to the Cruise control unit on A16 and feeds the computer (old 7747) with VSS low (2000 ppm) on B16.

As far as the fuel pump relay, I think I'm gonna run pin C203 (Fuel relay secondary) to the B2 location of the fuel relay control circuit and pin C209 (primary) to the A1 location. My intention is to use the original 91 wiring to control the fuel pump.
I've attached a schematic (C/K truck is the lower drawing), hopefully you will spot check me on that.
It should prime, then when the oil pressure sensor gets 4 psi the primary picks up and keeps the fuel pump on.?
Those primary and secondary fuel pump feeds coming from the 0411 PCM are for priming (secondary) and running (primary), right?

I'm looking through this. Whoever made this deserves a case of beer

About the tach... My 98 Tahoe with the 0411/L31 (4x reluctor) combo runs 1 with the Hi and Lo and the tach works like normal. I think I need to change the LQ4's tach output to 1 as well for the 91 cluster??? I'm not sure.

THe first attachment is the stock 2002 LQ4 setting, the last is the 2001 chevy express van L31 setting which I use in the Tahoe.

With pin C1 33 (TCC brake switch signal), it's gotta be pin B10 in the middle diagram..??
I think the brake pedal switch should have a wire going to the 7747, I just need to figure out which one it is and run it to the 0411 at C1 33.

This is for the OBD 2 port. Pin 2 on the ALDL plug is pin C1 58

I know I'm posting info that a lot of guys already know, I guess I'm just kinda posting this stuff for guys who don't (like me).

Well, I went through the harness today and it looks good (nothing cut, broken, etc). Also cracked open the LQ4, absolutely spotless inside. I was pretty impressed.
I'm not planning on running EGR or the Charcoal canister, so I'll be searching for some blockoff plates for that stuff.
I need to get the 4L80 rebuilt...prolly could have it done for 4 or 500 bucks if I'm lucky.
    Still need
    NBS radiator (34" wide)
    NBS trans cooler lines
    NBS rad hoses
    accessory bracket bolts
LQ4 flexplate with spacer and bolts
    schoenfeld headers
    O2 sensors (just front 2)
    belt idler/tensioner assembly
    probably some other stuff.
Can anybody identify the year this 4L80 is? I think it's a post 96 because the Park/neutral switch has two plugs.

    Extra bosses for another cooler??

    just curious

Looks 99-up GMT800 to me. The bolt hole on the top wasn't there on GMT400 stuff. Also don't think they had the 4L80e script like that on the GMT400s.

    Awesome, thanks PitchBlack.

    good stuff

I'm still cranking on this project...just getting sidetracked.
Thinking about 243 heads...not sure. I assume swapping heads on an LS engine is the same as a SBC. looks much easier, tho
I'm also thinking about throwing a 2000 rpm converter in the trans, it should help the 6.0 get over the 4L80E's nasty 1st gear.
    opinions??
