Finally got the 6.0. Finally. now it gets fun

The engine was previously installed in a 94 ECSB truck, but removed due to the "transmission not working right". You can't use the 94 4L60E with the 0411 PCM...lol
I'm aware of the LS conversion thread.

Anyway, I scored this puppy with all acc and 75k miles for $700 (ok considering) which included what you see(accessories are on a shelf in the rear) and the fuel lines already installed...that was a cool bonus. Anyway, this is going into my 91 TBI truck and I have a few questions...of course, it's about gauges. 91 was a bastard year, with the DRAC built into the cluster itself. I guess I'll just run raw VSS data to the cluster for speed.? The 4L80E has two VSSs, and the NBS cluster receives speed data from the PCM so I guess I'll just run it from there. As far as RPM, I think I can change the RPM pulses in the PCM with EFILive, but not sure. volts, oil, remain the same.
Anybody have any good links or info on the 91 truck cluster? Not sure of the wiring diagram for the cluster in the back (although I think I found it over at FSC), as well as a diagram for the firewall connection (no clue on this one) in the engine bay. Mainly trying to wire in the check engine light, gauges, ALDL port, etc.
    What am I missing here?

O yah. The VSSs. I take it the LQ4/80E doesn't use the slip yoke housing VSS on the NP 241/6?
I know the 80E has two speed sensors, I guess if I was just wondering if it used that one on the Transfer case.
I also need a 32 spline 241 input. (no biggie). Yah found out there are 2 sizes of inputs; thick bearing and thin, with thin being 94 and up.
I'm not really concerned with A/C, since this is my project and the Tahoe is the DD.
Hey, I need your help and thoughts/suggestions.
What works, what doesn't, etc for this swap.
I have the street and performance pdf file which details the install, really helpful guide.

    Thanks Guys

ok, cool. that's what I needed to know.
    thanks!

What headers/exhaust are you guys using?
The OBX conversion ones I read about in the conversion thread?

I'm thinking I'll just have the exhaust shop make the pipes right off of the stock manifolds.

i would go with long tubes, its money well spent and then you wont have to worry about your exhaust again. find out what Chevylee or DBRODS are running on there obs truck they seem to be well made.

So what's the deal with the A/C compressor issue?
Does anybody have any pics of the notch in the frame?
I don't want to notch the frame...but I also don't want to buy S&P's kit. I know it will be like a grand

I can definitely live without A/C...I'm just wondering what people's solutions were for this prob

I dont think the Schoenfelds will work. Ive seen em on trucks with SAS but when I called them they told me they wont fit a 4x4. And I dont know about your truck but on mine theres a frame brace in the location where the GenIII ac compressor goes. And I have a friend that put an 8.1 in his 90 k3500 and he swapped out the cluster with one from a 92-94.
1992 rcsb k1500 lq4 4l80 swap done.If anyone has questions feel free email as I'm not on here very often. bobby_seitz@yahoo.com
