    Metal in oil, suggestions please

I would post this on my other post but since the software upgrade on the site i can not respond to post. I can post new ones or send PMs

Anyway my ls6 is losing oil pressure and we found metal shavings in the oil. I only have about $1500 to $2000 to spend. Im pretty sure i can find a 6.0 for around a grand. Should i fix the motor I have? I havent tore it down yet so I dont know what im looking at just yet. I found a ls2 short block. Will my heads and cam bolt right on and in? Any suggestions would be great

First off, how much metal are you finding? Does it cover the oil drain plug? Pics of it? Some metal is expected, but we need to know how much... Secondly, if you don't need to find a replacement motor fast, tear the motor down and take it to a shop so they can determine the reasons for the metal and the the fix for it.
