    Question 3200 to 4000 converter

well, i been in contact with Skeet and his truck is just amazing.

i ran across an amazing deal on a 4500 mile VIG4000. the owner is swapping cams and going back to a stock motor basically. the converter is too much for him now. i have a Circle D 3200, it flashes 3400ish on a flat foot on DRs. im not scared to have the converter restalled to a 3600 which i planned to run anyways. i am told by a few guys running a 4000 in a TBSS and loving it.

i really just want some input, the truck is a DD/Family ride. i know on the Highway the 4000 will drive like a stock converter, but how will it really drive in city which is where my fiance drives my truck most. im swapping to a Tru-Cool 40k at the same time as the converter swap. im still on a stock tranny, 4:10s.

    thanks for any input

Billet 1-2 and 4th gear. im actually thinking of taking a couple side jobs so i can get the billets, the new dshaft, and a new set of pants bc im sure ill need em

well i called PI and they said my converter is actually a 3600 for a LS1 car, that's how it flashes to 4000 im a lot happier knowing that the converter is a little tighter than a 4000, i dunno if i could have DD that lol. when i put in a performabuilt im swapping to a pb 3600 also that's say 10.5" unless i really like this 9.5"
my Tru-cool is here, along with my billet 1-2 4th gear servos on the way. my next days off ill be pulling the tranny and installing everything. i wont get a chance to get get to the track until next week at the earliest.

Hey man glad the tc is treating you well. With that being said 4k stall is high, city driving is gonna hate you. Im running the yank 3200 in the 80e and it does not like city driving. Just my opinion good luck, Nick

    Keniff,
ran the PB 3800 fugging tight as hell
ran the PI VIG 4k fugging tight as hell
ran the fuddle 3200 not bad but wasnt what i wanted or needed

the PI i had restalled to a 44-4600 by circle d,i luv it cause i have use for it

all i am saying here is talk to someone that knows either it be chris at circle d or yank or PI.. your tuner can tune a loose converter to have decent street manors

if that 3600 is loose and you like it then be done with it

blue, this one isnt the one i bought from you. that one is in my 94 chevy w a full bolt on 5.3

skeet if you say vig is too tight then ill take your word. i planned on having it restalled but it flashed 3900-4000 in an ecsb with a 6.0/65e 4:10s and a 235+ cam. so im hoping it'll flash close to the same. if not Chris at Circle D will be getting my phone call and money to rebuild it the way ill be happy with it
