    how much is too much?

well my 5.3 for my lsx swap into my 86 ta will be here monday or tuesday and ive got most of everything i need to drop it in but id really rather stick in a cam before i set it in and am kinda wondering what i should go with. i really like the 228r cam but for the first swap it is all on a tight budget. im just wondering how big of a cam i can safely go with on a fairly stock 5.3? ill be changing pushrods and springs but using stock rockers running ls1 intake fbody manifolds until i can build my own swap headers running a th350 with 9.5in 3500 stall alum driveshaft and at the moment 2.73 gears but that will change soon after i get it running. the car will be getting a t56 swap as soon as i gather all the parts. the car is going to be a driver but more of a pleasure ride than anything. ive got a buddy with a 400whp 02 z28 and another buddy with a pullied 03 cobra i need to keep up with lol.

    How is that too big?????

    I plan on running a 223/231 .610/.617 112LSA in my 5.3... There's people running bigger cams in 5.3's and 4.8's.
