No one's flaming you...it's just the facts. A stock 5.7 will not perform as well as a stock 5.3. I had a 95 ECSB with a 350. My 07 with the original 5.3 is light years ahead. I like the 350 motor...it's a classic. But Chevy moved in a different way...for the better. Reminiscing is fine but it will leave you in the dust. Now lots of people have done lots of things with their 350s to make lots of power. Maybe one of them will chime in.

my stock 5.7 ate an 03 5.3 and an 04 4.8 off the line and through bout 75 after that 5.3 pulled up bout 1/2 a car then he hit rev limiter and i pushed in cruise control and bypassed my governor bye bye 5.3and the 4.8 just saw my bumper the whole time...never raced a newer 5.3 like your so i can't comment

If you want to speed up your 5.7, then a bigger cam, headers, and boring/stroking to a 383 will definitely help.

with stock tires 3.42's are too high, let alone 33's. swap to 4.10's or bigger for a start.

A buddy of mine swapped a 454tbi motor in hi 89' and was dealing with a guy on tbichips.com, ive never dealt with them but they seem to be pretty decent.
