autometer speedometer with 4l80e

well I just installed a Autometer electronic speedometer and gauges in my 56. and when I drove it to calibrate it the tranny wouldnt shift out of 2nd gear,so I drove it 2 miles to finish the the calibration. Now it will shift but acts like the shifts are very hard and when I stop it acts like it is trying to kill the engine.I am running the ecm out of a 2004 escalade and used pin 21 on the green connector for my vss signal. Has anybody had this problem? thanks

ok so I unhooked the speedo signal wire from the vss and the tranny works ok,I then hooked it to pin 49 yellow with black stripe and speedo works ,not sure why autometer tells you to splice into the vss wire but hope this will help someone else.

not sure why but sometimes the wiring gives me a mental block and I just have to walk away for a while.The last thing I want to wire is so I have cruise control and then I am done wiring on this old truck

Same here. I am terrible at wiring but it does help to walk away and come back to it later.
