    6.0L with 5.3's heads??

hey guys, what happens if I do a 5.3 to 6.0 and install the 862's to the 6.0? the thing is I had them ported, polished and the 3 angle valve job on them and kind of would like to stay with them if they will do me any good.. or should I use the ones the 6.0 have?? cause i dont think I can afford the heads job again right now..
    thanks guys!

You will gain a lot of low end torque and lose a lot of top end horse power.
    2002 Tahoe 4.8 - soon to be turbo'd - SOLD
    1989 Mustang - LX Vert - 351W-TT - 2inches of dust covering it

Alot of people down here swap 5.3 heads to bump up the compression with good results.

had a friend with and lq9 6.0 and had an ms3 cam and 862 heads ported, milled, and valve job and went 12.3 with traction issues. so i think it will work good.

It will always "work better" when you run them on an LQ9.

BUT...since the cc is a lot smaller on the 706/862 heads (about 10 cc), you deck them a little...and they are going up against an LQ9's flat top pistons--there might be a concern of PTV. But since this combo has been fashioned before and there have been no major problems, I am sure you'd be fine.
