6.0 LS swap into 99 tahoe 2 dr

Going to be swapping a 6.0 in my obs 2 dr tahoe. Ive found several engines. The question is, how can I identify what engine is which? I know DBW is the newer engines, but how else can I tell the difference.

I'm looking at a 6.0 that's suppose to b out of an 07 escalade. How do I tell if this is an actual L92/LY6 engine?

    Thanks, Wil

check on the back of the blocks for casting numbers, and all of them should say 6.0l on the block as well

I'm going to look at an engine thats spost to be out of an 07 escalade with 34k miles on it.

What do I need to look for to determine if its actually the new 6.2l engine?

Aluminum block and it should be stamped 6.2L on the front of the block

it should also be an aluminum block if it is the new 6.2 what is the vin number of the vehicle the engine came from( if you know) i can pull the vin and get all the rpo codes and everything in one shot!

Went to look at the engine and it was iron block LQ4 motor. Which is fine but I didn't buy it cuz the guy just didn't seem right to me and it also was very dirty, possibly a higher mileage engine than he was claiming.

So if anybody has a good LQ4/LQ9/L92 complete engine let me know!!!

    Thanks
