Carb motor in a 99 silverado?

Ok my truck has been a real pain for the past 2 years. So today i picked up a cheap daily. Now i want to get my 99 nbs running again.

Heres the catch and dont flame me this isnt for race purpose. This is strictly to drive to shows and on occasion now.

I want to put a carb'd chevy small block in this truck. Eliminating most of the electrical crap and computer.

What all needs to be done here? I know i will need the motor and get mounts to bolt it in. I plan to usd a msd ignition source to start it etc.

Now is there anyway to mate the motor to the 4l60e? Also How will the alternator and stuff wire back up since i wont have a engine harness anymore.

I just need to know what all its gonna take to do this conversion, I dont want to hear put a lsx motor in it because this is cheaper and will get the job done for what i need.

you'll need an older 700r4 tranny or th350.

Will still a deal of wiring to do, since this obviously isn't your area of interest (based off other problems) I'd find a buddy that's good with cars

i'm not 100% sure on motor mount fitment. Might need a cowl hood to clear the carb. Will be better off using aftermarket gauges since your cluster will be useless. Will need fuel regulator to knock down to 5.5-7 psi or so. Special downpipe, vac advance distributor.

Yea i didnt know if i had to swap the tranny or not. I dont mind doing the wiring but i hate searching for a problem and seeing nothing but everything i try refuses to work.

I plan to run aftermarket gauges custom fit in a custom cluster. Also gonna take the fuel pump apart and replace the in tank with one that has the right pressure for a older motor. Exhaust will be taken care of. Distributor is gonna be bought with ignition.

Heres one thing im confused on.

i know this is whats used for the carb fuel line and will connect on my supply line from the tank. But what will the return line connect to?

I know. Not looking for speed. This is for simplicity. I wont be using this vehicle much anymore so just doing this so it will atleast run. Also its a project now so it will be an enjoyable thing to do.
