    Hello people

Im new to this site and I look forward to talking with everyone about these great trucks. Just bought a nbs 07 Silvy LT with the 4.8. One of the best things Ive ever done for myself. Im looking to turbo this motor and lower the suspension a couple inches. Any recommendations and advice would be appreciated. Im hoping to get some honest opinions on aftermarket products, so I cant wait to hear from some of you.

    Thanks

    Chris

If you are looking into a turbo there is one for sale in the for sale section right now. If you are wanting to buy new or one that is.... smaller Trick and KBracing make great products

Thanks for the reply, guys. I'll take some pics to put on here shortly, once I figure it out. My plans for this truck include doing either a Hotchkis 1-2" drop to keep it basic and cheap, or a McGaugheys 2-4" lowering kit. I want the truck a bit lower than where it's sitting now, but I'm not trying to slam it. Any input on the quality of these two particular kits, and the effects on ride and handling, would help me out.

Regarding the motor, I was looking into t'charging, and was wondering what would work best on a bone stock 4.8 with just a K&N filter. Since it's such a small V8, should I go with a medium to large single turbo, or would a smaller twin-turbo setup be more beneficial? Which turbo manufacturers are known for reliable and quality hardware? Obviously, I can only go so far with the stock internals on this motor, but I'll slowly upgrade to an all-forged setup when finances permit. Since this will be a somewhat long process for me, what should I do to run a smooth, strong running, turbo on this stock motor?

    thanks alot guys

    Chris

Honestly refer to my post above. Virgil is selling a great kit. More for a Racing set up but it would bout all you would ever need haha. As far as the two companies I mentioned both are high quality kits. Easily upgraded. Both can be reached by pm on this site. Kb is Kbracing (I beleive this is his screen name) and Trick's name is Turbo6.0 I believe. *someone correct me if Im wrong on the names please* They are both great guys and willing to answer any questions you have.
As far as single or twin. Id get a 70mm turbo... thats around medium sized and single is much cheaper then twin. So for what your doing... thats my two cents...

Thanks for the references Show&Go. I was checking out that turbo kit you mentioned, and I was thinking that maybe the 76mm is a little too big. So you think a single 70mm from either Trick or KBRacing will help get me up around 350-400 rwhp? I like the single turbo idea, for the cost savings alone, and it seems like alot less stuff to go wrong over the twins, too. Any thoughts on the best size for an intercooler? I've never liked the idea of blocking my radiator with an intercooler, either. Do you know of any other options for mounting an ic in a remote location?

    Thanks again

There is now reason not to put your IC in front of your radiator. The only other place i have seen the be put is underneath the truck like the Procrager kits do. My IC and pretty much all other turbo trucks on this site will have the IC over the radiator. 70mm is what i run on my 4.8 matched with a stall and cam, its a good size for the motor. Good luck on the build. What ever you think its gonna cost double it. FI aint cheap.

You can make 350-400 RWHP without putting a turbo on at all if you wanna get radical. 400 RWHP would be easy with a turbo even smaller than the 70 if you have the cash. The 76 mean05 has for sale is kinda big but is not huge and would allow plenty of room to grow. With all the stuff his set-up comes with you'd be hard pressed to get a 70 system in there for less unless you did all the hot and cold fab yourself.
