My brother drives a LTD that he cut the muffler off so it would be loud in NE OK. They don't even do safety inspections any more.

    what a joke.
this is the actual state law for OK

    §47-12-402.

Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in
good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or
unusual noise and annoying smoke, and no person shall use a muffler
cut-out, bypass or similar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway.
No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in any
manner which will amplify or increase the noise or sound emitted
louder than that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the
    vehicle.

everyone has loud or no mufflers around here.

your best bet is to go talk to the chief and ask him to tell his boys to lay off you.

they can get your for unlawful noise, noise polution, faulty equipment, lack of OEM equipment.

with my setups i creep and try not get attention drawn to me. that means doing exactly speed limit thru tight area towns.

problem is your truck is marked. either change exhaust or sell truck. once a vehicle is marked they will **** with you daily

So if you are just passing through, and you don't live there, they can still give you a ticket? Sounds pretty bogus to me.

If talking to the chief doesn't work, I'd take it to the next level and take some vids of the chief's truck for evidence!

    Bogus.

NTSHA wouldn't agree and it wouldn't hold up in court if you had $500,000.00 to spend to take it Supreme...then again....

WOW that's a tight lipped law.

Let's be clear, the last time I checked TX has no Db limit and an equipment violation can only be cited when a specific law is broken...not by a city ordinance, etc.

yupp, cause it also all reflects back to the standard rule of certain noise is only allowed to be produced. exhaust have to be factory looking and exiting
