I wish it were that simple.
Having same problem I had when I first started. Older guys mad at the world, nothing better to do but try to get me in trouble. Only this time its serious. Well, its retarded. But its been blown way out of proportion.
A cat that was adopted by the station showed up one day without whiskers. Automatically I was accused. And the guy went around telling everyone that I did it, that I also broke various rules, and even strait faced lied to the assistant chief.
Now as much as I hate cats, If I wanted to harm the little creep, It would have just disappeared. Without a trace. But the problem is he has a few good ole boy buddies that are backing him. Don't know what I did to piss him off, but he is winning right now. I got written up. He went and dug, and dug, and dug some more, until he found out one time I forgot my helmet. then boom. He squealed. They had a long list of fabricated accusations, and one actual mistake I made. I took responsibility for it.
The others were like, I slept all day. I didn't know how to pump the truck ect...
Its at the point were I would rather quit, and find another job, than deal with this crap any longer. I'm not quitting unless its a last resort. And I have another job lined up. And they cant fire me, on an accusation alone. So its a waiting game until My next mistake, and If its around him, I'm done.
Maybe he is mad because I didn't like McCain.
Seriously though. I'm at my wits end with this nonsense.
I need to know my rights, options, risks, and what to do and not to do.
    Thanks

Oh man! Thats is just bs. Some people though, they just don't even need reasons to do that to a person.. they just shovel sh*t all day, and usually on some of the best people. From what I've seen though its usually from these type of people that expect this and people bow for them all the time.

Fear, jealousy, or just a straight a** hat. He just doesn't like you, and well since he's bee around he'll ride you till you quit, or get fired..

    Feel for you man.

I don't think there would be too much in the way of legal steps.. unless you can get him for slander or something, but I'm sure that would just piss the man off.. but then might make him back off too

1st Never talk politics at work. 2nd well I am with Quik Find another job. No way around it. Chances are you don't have there respect and are never going to get it. Once some ones personal views are expressed others with very different views will never look at you the same. Chances are an attorney is just going to take your money and tell you to find another job.
