hey all, came here looking for info on an engine swap for an '86 custom deluxe. have been surfing the forum all day and found a lot of good info. i could still use some guidance on tranny options though. i would like to keep the 4spd with granny if possible so if you know of any good threads for me to read through, let me know. i found a 5.3 with 70k miles at the local yard for the transplant. see you on the boards.

Welcome to the site! Don't know if the 5.3L will bolt up to the Muncie SM465 manual tranny or not. I think it should, but I imagine there should be some kind of adapter flywheel that will be needed...
