i sat the motor and tranny's about a foot more forward on the frame in the front and i have the front of the truck on jack stands about where the firewall is
and the motor/tranny's lifted up the rear wheels off the ground,
i have the bed off the truck right now tho

didn't have to cut any of the firewall so far

Where did you get such a deal on the engine & trans?

I see you are on the west coast somewhere like me and the best I have been able to find is around $1400 for just a complete engine without the transmission.

I have found the bare engines for mid $600 range but you have to buy the electronics & accessories separate so it is not a very good deal if you need it all.

    Any help would be appreciated.

ive been useing a older miller 210 welder, and the gun took a dump on me, so the swap is on hold for a bit, unit i can get a new gun/cable for the welder

    but on a side note

i picked up my drive by wire pedal
    and tac mod with wiring
and obd2 port for $20 out the door

so im gonna work on the harness now and when i get the welder working again, i'll keep on with the project

    oh yeah
i looked on here for junkyards in my area
    Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
and then and went and looked at motors in the area and looked and talked them down on the price

just tell them you have cash in hand and will buy the motor on the spot and they will work with you

My '02 Yukon had electronic throttle control (ETC)... often referred to as Drive-By-Wire. So does my father's '01 Yukon XL. This wasn't just an '03+ option.

    *edit*

Guzzler... you're right about the "Z" engines. That's what was in my Yukon (before I sold it).
