    Exclamation Broken dipstick tube.

    Hey all,

When I was removing my dipstick tube to install my headers, I noticed the tube came out of the block really easy. Looking at it I noticed it was broken flush with the block may be about 1.5 to 2 inches of the tube left in the block.

    My question:

Does anyone know of a way to get this out without removing the oil pan?

I tried using a hangar and pulling from the base of the tube with no luck. It seems to be stuck in there pretty good.

    Thanks in advance.

None of the tube is above the block. Looks like I'm stuck pulling the pan.

The pan's that big of a deal. It's only time.

Take an ice pick (or similar punch) and tap it down between the tube and block. Push in towards the center of the tube while you're tapping. This will release some of the tension on the tube. Then take needle-nose pliers and grab the tube at the tap location. Carefully wiggle, twist, and pull. It should come out.

    Probably wouldn't hurt a thing.
