OK I'm the friend that RED03SILSS is referring to. The LS6 cam sounds good. To give you guys a little more info. I want it to scream. I want it too really thump hard. It is also a daily driver so it needs to have a little practicality to it.

The cam i put in my truck is pretty nice(its in my sig).. it really starts pulling at about 3700, and continues to put you in your seat till you shift.(at least for the 4.8 motor i think it does pretty good) if you want something for the lower rpm range, get something with a little bigger LSA. From what i've heard, this cam won't react well to FI,(which is perfect for your friend) and now that i've been thinking about FI, it may be time to start cam shopping again some time in the distant future. It has a nice lope too at 650 which is where i had my idle set at for awhile... But now that i'm living in NY for awhile, i had the idle set to 800, so that way when my brothers drive my truck they aren't constantly stalling it.. Just my 2 cents.

Does it really lope hard? Does it still bog on low end until the RPM's get wound up, like when it was stock?

I want two major things from this cam. I want it to make my 4.8L come to life on the low end,(the truck screams on top end), but falls on its face off the line until the RPM's get built up. I know I need to put a stall in it also. Second, I want people to know it has a cam in it, I want it to lope hard. I want it to sound something like these examples:
YouTube - Corvette z06 with MTI X1 cam
    YouTube - 2006 Lingenfelter GTO
YouTube - Head and Cam GTO Idle Vid (Tuned)!
YouTube - Cam only w boltons Camaro SS 405 HP
I know these are not 4.8L pickups, but this is the sound I want.
