I have seen several Busa's run 9.80's and 9.90's between 140 and 143 mph at Memphis. I think they are lighter and put out more HP than the V. I looked at the V before I bought my Busa but I felt like my son would kick my butt to bad so I went with the Busa. No doubt the V would me more comfortable to ride.

Yeah my brother was looking at a busa but he decided to get a cruiser. Yeah the V-Max is an awesome bike but I knew a guy that had one and he raced a guy that had a busa and he said that he couldn't take him but any other bike he could pretty much smoke light to light...Zed

You never said what size it was , so it's hard to determine, but if it was a 600 (not sure what size they come in) i believe it. Most heavy modded trucks can hang or beat a 600 on the highway, i've done it plenty of times, and they don't get too far ahead on take off either.
Now a 750 or larger, say goodbye to any chance, lol.

Don't know all I know is it was all black and all decals were removed except for the GSX-R on the front left fairing. My truck isn't all that heavily modded either. He prolly just ran it up over a hundred just to see if he could lose me but without the stock limiter that wasn't happening too easily. O.K. found it a 600, here it is but had all decals removed...Zed Gixxer 600

P.S. Click on the color black if it doesn't come up black.

I have a modified 03 Hayabusa, and all I have to say is they hold their own very well. As far as a vmax goes, my brother has one and when i got my busa we raced, stock vs. stock and there was no way he was going to touch me maybe a 600.... However i will say this, for a cruiser they are very fast. Right now my busa is putting out 229 rear wheel horsepower. Its nice to have a uncle that has a machine shop. Its now a 1540cc That 229 is all motor.

no doubt the busa is an awesome machine, but correct me if i'm wrong, did a motorcycle magazine publish that they made a stock vmax go 9.98 or was that a misprint?
i don't know what mag that was, like cycle world or something.

i guess i like the vmax because it's plain looking and fast,

i don't think my ass could rid a crotch rocket for more than 30miles, lol.

Ron- Yes it is streetable by all means. Idle is set around 900 because when it is cold it will not even idle with the fuel enriched. 1540cc , A little bigger cam , compression is now 12.2-1 and the heads were cleaned up a bit. I am still running stock exhaust because i dont like drawing extra attention to myself when i am being stupid however i need to Put my yosh system on to let it breath.
