    2010 chevy duramax 4.5L-I'm in!

Ok...I've been really thinking hard about waiting till 2010 to get back into the performance sceen. GM is coming out with a 1/2 ton silverado with a 4.5L duramax diesel engine cranking out like 310 HP and 520 ft/lbs. of torque...thats an awesome platform to make a seriously fast truck...add a tune, cold air, and a good exhaust, and we're talking about some major power...and it gets 25 mpg on top of all that! I know I'm committing a huge sin here; talking about a diesel on an LS1 forum but what do you guys think about this?

We have a diesel section now - talk about it all you want.

I agree - sounds like a great start to a fast truck.

I just think that its amazing how easily a diesel can make power...they can gain 100 rwhp with a tune...thats nuts in a 9000 pound truck.

Oh yeah! They are going to be powerhouses for sure. Not too sure about the DOHC idea though, I guess if they're built with some very strong parts they'll be ok.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
