Harald, glad to see you're collaborating with Patrick on this. I'll definitely be following along to see how things work out.

Oh yes we will make it one or the other way.
Sad thing is that my engine and tranny package deal is more complicated than first expected. The company I odered from ( and already paid..!) has problems to source all the parts I want out of one truck / SUV. Good thing is, the guy who is processsing my order is a good one, he tries whatever he could to source all the parts. So after all arrives in germany the real "fun part" begins.
The more guys are starting with this kind of swap the more informations we will recieve and the quicker all the problems and headache disappear

    hey, I am back

I had some headache with the first supplier of my engine tranny combo. Ok I had two long nights on the internet and I found a company who's more specialized in late model conversions. They keep all the wiring and all control moduls and the guy I was talking to knew his job inside out.

Here are some pics of the combo I bought. I also opted for the under dash wiring and the BCM. We will see when all is here in Germany.

You know, the more I thought about this why would you want to use the can bus for the gauges unless you're going to try and put the newer cluster in your 97? To make everything simple you could still use the GenIII sensors and hook them directly to the 97 gauges. You already have the wiring from the 97 harness and you just need to hook the sensors up. Just a thought if you were to run into problems. It would be like all my gauges and sensors are hooked up, standalone from the pcm. Let us know how things work out for you and what issues there are with the can bus, I'm pretty interested in hearing about it.

    Thanks
