any way to keep obd 1 in swap

im looking at building an lsx engine. plans are to fuel it with the single plane 29086 edelbrock kit, but run the msd controller for spark. get some 30 lb injectors and an aftermarket throttle body with a 4150 flange.
if i go this route for fueling is there any reason i cant keep the obd 1 setup i already have?

btw: i have already found out the the 7427 pcm i have will run mpfi.

It will probably still work with some tuning but, if you want this swap to go reeeal easy then get the pcm and wiring harness for the LSx it will save alot of headache
