Either your sending unit has crapped out or your oil pump is heading south... Let's just hope it's the sending unit...

Does it sound any different? If the engine sounds normal then the sending unit has gone bad.

The sending unit is behind the intake. It will be easier to do if you take off the intake first.

will i need new gaskets? if so that's going to take some time. what about a bad sensor? it sucks not having a dealership over here so i could get my shit fixed under warranty.

alright...just went out and tried it again. it's about 45 outside, said "low oil pressure" for about 2 secs and then it was fine. cold start idle @ about 750 RPMs and oil pressure was reading 40-43 on the interceptor. oil level is fine. do you think a sensor could be going bad? wouldn't the Interceptor DTC function pick up on that?

I don't think the sending unit can set off a DTC.

If it is acting funny, replace it.

I had one on my old truck with the 305 at idle it would show 0 oil pressure. Replaced it and it went back to 45 at idle. It won't throw a code that I know of. The Interceptor, gauge, and the PCM all read oil pressure off of the same sending unit.
