well since he couldnt figure out what was killing my trans. his fix was to make it to where the trans does not shift hard at all. not even a little thump. no firm shifts or anything. shifts like it did when it was stock. got me a little pissed off seeing how i dumped 2300 dollars for a trans that shifts soft. oh and the 2-1 down shift seems to slip real bad. not really slip but kinda fall into first and then slide into second. gonna take it back to him tomorrow and see what the hell is going on. when i picked it up he was like let me know if we need to tone it down...... hell tone it down!!!!!!!! it needs to be firmed up a bit. i would hate to see what his diffinition of a soft shift is.

oh and to boot my exhaust has a big hole in it where the hanger supports the pipe. seems to me he pried on the exhaust to get the trans out and busted it. Not really a big deal except for the ghetto sounding exhaust. but cant get it fixed untill probably sat. or even monday.
unless someone around me has a tig welder i can borrow.

The problem with getting a lawyer is that Cottman's has never refused to try and repair it for you. With the mechanic's lein and warranty laws here in TX, unless they refuse to repair the vehicle while under the warranty period, it's tough to get a refund. But since Cottman's is a national chain, getting a lawyer to talk to someone on a higher level in the Cottman's empire may convince them to refund your money just to keep it quiet. The more hell you raise with the higher up people, the better chance you have. I would try calling the national office myelf and complain before getting a lawyer involved. And keep the word lawyer out of it as long as possible. For some reason that word just brings out the arrogance and tough guy attitude out in us technicians and shop owners. If you need copies of the texas mechanic's lien law or warranty issues, I can probably get them for you. Good luck, I know for damn sure I would have given you your money back and hoped to hell I never saw you again by now.... Of course at my shop, we never make mistakes.....

Got my answer on thread before on your race thread. At least they are trying to fix it. As long as it is under warranty keep taking it back until it is right.

thats the problem i have right now. his fix is not what i originally paid for. the trans does not shift firm. hes tryin to save his butt. so to do this he has it where it will; not shift hard. shifts way to soft for me. i mean it slides into gear.

dont know allen but the guy told mean that the reason that it is taking to long to down shift and upshift is because the TPS sensor is causing this. and that i need to have it adjusted in the programming. what are your thoughts on this?
