funny conversation i had last night

ok so im sitting around at Sonic last night with a guy that i recognized from down the street from where i work... actually i will come back to the rockwall guy here... BUT im standing there and some younger guys, probably 17-19 come up to me... we were all these guys so i cut them some slack, but just thought it was funny

Richy Rich#1 : hey man is that your truck (points to ugly primered tailgate)

me : yeah it gets me where i need to go

Richy Rich#2 : what all do you have done to it (who hasnt asked this question)

me : just a cam and little exhaust ( on the inside)

Richy Rich#1 : it sounds pretty mean

me : thanks it could use a little work...

Richy Rich#1 : does it really have an LS1 in it??

me : well...... (then i explain the basic difference between an ls1 5.7 and my 5.3, while they stand there and have the dumbest look on their face and tryin to pretend they know what im talking about)

Richy Rich#2 : o so it doesnt have an LS1?

me : (while trying not to the kid) ok so technically no it does not

Richy Rich#2 : well why do you have that LS1 sticker on there??

(side note... at this point im tryin to have patience and not either laugh in their face and kill them at the same time)

me : well its a genIII/IV motor based website where alot of GM truck owners come and chat and get technical advice about our trucks... we have meets, and go race, and just have a good time in general... its a good truck based forum for chevys.

both : ohhh....

me : yep, its alot of fun ive gotten to meet a few guys around here..

Richy Rich#1: so will it really beat a hemi??

me : every now and then its been known to...

Richy Rich#1: what about a harley with a 4lb pully and tune....

me : hell i have no clue i havent run anything like that before, but i remember when i first started looking for a truck (even though i dont admit it often) i looked into getting a harley truck and test drove a few... theyre pretty quick.

Richy Rich#2 : (here he spouts off about his friend that owns a nissan truck or something)

me: OH cool (i really dont care at this point)...... so yall looking to race or anything tonight??

Richy Rich#1 i dont know i thought about it but im kind of worried, i dont want to get arrested or anything

me: itll be cool, we have a spot we go to.... well just let me know we can set something up



end up later on in the night i try and set up a few races for the kid with Virgil(Mean05) and PEDRO, but they have seen and heard about them.... which, rightfully so turned down that offer.... then i told him about a guy in a new 07, with a 4.8 and an F1 cam that Virgil used to have and a tune from Virg.... he was pondering it, and when we left to go race i told him lets go and to follow us.... he never showed.... none th eless he is spose to be out there next week and hopefully get some runs in with the 4.8

so my point is why, talk crap about racing, or how fast you are IN PERSON (i understand e-racers have 8 gears and 5000hp) but if your gonna say something or believe everything someone says... why not back it up if you think you can take em?? ugh youngins





ok and i thought this was hilarious, ill keep this part short......... talking to the guy in the black truck i have seen b4, and he was saying that his truck... with a 5.3.... all he had is flows and a drop..... and dynod 325 hp it took all i have to keep from ing in his face... ive raced the guy before ( i didnt know who he was at the time) but i kept up when i was completely stock... i was dynod at 235... now i have cam headers, tune, etc..... but cmon now, it was an obvious lie... and then i asked him what his times were, and he said he only took it to the track one, and had a 4-wheeler in the back so he didnt get to run.... UGH cmon now...

ok just 1 of MANY stories from last night... scared Ford driver, scared Nissan driver, a dodge driver without his truck there (probably broken somewhere), and a chevy driver with 8 gears and naWz....

hehe, great story, u forgot to mention the 450hp civic hatch out there that ran Virgil from a 60 punch. I knew i couldnt do a damn thing form that speed(suv(heavy) with a stall vs a hatch with a turbo(lighter)) It was cool out there tough, which the other would have gone to run virgil.The SSS not wanting to run the TBSS sucked.

yeah 5000lb truck vs 1500lb turbo hatch @ a 60 punch......

from a 20 punch or so i think he might have been able to pull on him and stay ahead, but 60... negative

yeah i wanted a 20 punch it would have been a better race, i think he woulda caught up though.

see i was thinkin about that afterwards... he pulled Virg pretty good due to it was a 60 punch, but he was hangin in there pretty good.... had it been at a lower speed i think he woulda been right in the power band and been able to hold him even better...... you could have to if you didnt have my fat ass riding in the back

well there was alot left out due to... well... i dont have the best of memory... there was alot of moments where i just wanted to shake my head at these guy and walk away... or just say to them that they should go race... if you win good.. if you dont.. live to race another day
