Someone told me that if I took my cats out that the motor would either run lean or rich? Is this true? My tune doesnt have the cats delete as of right now, but all i have to do is make a call and get one on the way with it. But in the mean time, if I do my headers and no cats, it iwll just throw a code till I get my tune right? its going to run ok? not rich or lean but the same?

Allen told me to watch my A/F ratio when I ditch mine, but I am FI so that might be why.

Naturally, it'll smell rich w/o cats, as cats are what help minimize as much fuel vapor potency as possible, thus helping "preserve the environment". I'm running no cats now, and codes are set to not report for the #2 sensors on B1&2. You can try to lean it out if ya want, but it won't help the scent any. If you're really concerned about the rich/lean levels, get an AFR gauge. A Wideband will be one of my future purchases.

Im really not concerned about the smell. I just dont want to drive a few days while im waiting on my tune update and risk messing somehting up on the motor. Thats what i am asking, if its possible to mees something up on the motor before i get my update.

make a call to charlie have him send u the same tune without cats and be done with it. if ur tuned to run without cats and u run cats it isnt gonna mess anything up i wouldnit think. all that tune does is tell it not to throw codes so i dont see the problem there.
