HWY you can get 18-20 if you stay out of it..

taking a severe hit on this as I have dropped atleast $19,000 in extras on the motor and drive train...
also the top end was just rebuilt about 13,000 miles ago..
heads where messaged a bit, and all the valves where reseated, and spacers put in where needed...

I will not be parting the truck out..

Damn...everyone, including me is thinking about selling their truck. I know gas is eating me alive, I'm up to about 600 a month for myself and if you include the wife we're at 900 a month. I'm making two mortgage payments... Good luck on the sell if you do decide to get rid of it...By the way if it helps to anyone looking, this truck is easily capable of hitting 12's w/ some slicks, the 13.2 run was made on street tires while spinning...

thats awesome u pulled those numbers out of a 4.8, and without going FI! how many times did u replace stuff? haha $19,000 seems like a ton to spend on a 4.8, im wondering if it'll take that much to get my 6.0 to 12's in the quarter?

the transmission was the worst problem I ran into..I spent 11,000 just on transmissions
that was finding someone that could actually build one..
as far as everything else I have only done the cam once, and the rebuild was to repair a damaged valve stem..
so I decided to redo the whole top end while I was there..

new lifters, new seats.. ETC,,
only thing left orriginal on the motor is the crank, and pistons..
the chambers hand no scratches at all on the walls..
you could even still see the cross hatching that is done a the factory when they hone the walls..

a 6.0L in the 12's shouldnt be that hard to get there..
cam and a stall with some gears, and you should be there.
