Do a LQ9 6.0L iron block build it up. Stock you can get 345 HP built up properly you can go to 400 plus, or go a 5.3L or 6.0L LQ4 and put a turbo on it or a supercharger I know 500 horses is what you really need. A built 6.0L and A turbo or supercharger is the way to go. This is just my opinion.
GOOD LUCK!

if all u want is around 400 horses go with an lq9. if u want more go with a blown lq4. ls1 would be great as well, haha its a win win situation for u! what transmission r u using with the swap?

It should not be that hard to complete the swap. I've been researching the same thing, and the hardest part I have found is the A/C, the frame has to be notched for the compressor (Not a problem for me… My a/c doesn’t work). As for the wiring, there are a few companies you can send the harness to have it modified to fit your application.

ps. You could look up www.VortecSierraswap.com, which is where I have gotten alot of my info.
